Hi Owen. Do you have a site where you've printed all your maps? I have one similar from SRCA bookmarked, but would definately like yours for reference too.

Not yet. Of course, if someone else wants to put my maps on a site he or she can email owdarcy@yahoo.com.

Hey Owen, do you happen to have a Golden Age Ray map?

If you do, could you e-mail it to me at Tromeo80@aol.com?

Steve has mapped a done-in-one Ray Archive:

Volume 1 (246 Pages): Smash Comics 14-40

Actually, the Ray was the cover feature in only 7 issues: 15, 17, 19, 21, 23, 25 and 27. With only the Ray covers, there would be 226 pages of reprinted material, or 240 pages total.

Owen, you seem to have a wide knowledge of all things DC. I wonder if you could help me with the following query.

I recently bought a Green Lantern Annual circa 1967 which is a hardback and consists of bound copies of the following comics:

Green Lantern #51 March 1967
Tomahawk #110 May/June 1967
Brave and The Bold #69 Dec 1966/Jan 1967 Batman and Green Lantern
House of Secrets #79 July/Aug 1966 Eclipso and Prince Ra-Man
Batman #190 March 1967
Superboy #136 March 1967

I would be grateful for any information you may have about the origin of this book. It does not carry any details of any publisher. The cover features a "blond" Hal Jordan fighting Tomar Re. In the cover blurb it states "Stories guaranteed to startle and amaze you featuring the master of the ... MYSTIC RING Alan Scott (sic) alias GREEN LANTERN and other super crime fighters. I think the cover is based on Green Lantern #38.

I am an infrequent poster on these boards but a very frequent reader. Any help would be great. Thank you in anticipation.

Does this carry a cover price? Sounds like the sort of thing the British did a lot of.

James, no cover price but I do think it is British. All the contents are original US DC issues. Does that help?

Not really in terms of helping me identify it for you, but it narrows the field.
Any of our British brethren here?

I don't know. Sounds to me like an individual had some of his comics bound. Are the comics it contains complete, each with covers and ads?

Anyway, in case SpiceRacker is still wondering:

I've heard about British books like this and would love to hear more about them. They sound really cool, but I heard they were in black and white.

I think Owen's right. It sounds to me like some fly-by-night company (or individual) was trying to make a quick buck by fooling users. I think 1967 readers might have felt ripped off, but it sounds like a cool thing to own now.

Thanks to all the posters. The books inside the binding are all complete with ads, editorial, letters pages, covers, etc. They could be removed (carefully) and you would have high grade books.

I don't think they were bound by a private individual. The mistake on the cover (Alan Scott) would not have been given the go ahead by a fan.

I think that a company bought up returns and marketed them in this format.

I am not sure if DC/National had anything to do with it.

I do own some British DC Annuals from this period which consist of both color and black and white reprints.

I have never seen something like this before.

Has anyone got any further information?
